Unveiled: Simon Law in concert

Great gig tonight at Unveiled in St Andrew's Church, as the conclusion to the One Beautiful World Arts Festival. Simon Law performed an enjoyable mix of covers and his own thought-provoking songs, many performed together with his son Reuben. Singer-songwriter Simon has fronted: “Sea Stone”, “INTRANSIT” and “Fresh Claim”; doing hundreds of gigs across the UK and Europe. All of his musical output is published by Sea Dream Music and released through Plankton Records -  https://planktonrecords.co.uk/events/simon-law-wickford-essex/ .

Friday 26 May, 7.00 pm St Andrew’s Church, 11 London Road, Wickford SS12 0AN Part of ‘Unveiled’, the Friday night arts and performance evening at St Andrew’s Church Part of the One Beautiful World Arts Festival – see https://onebeautifulworldfestival.blogspot.com/ Rev Simon Law Prior to Ordination in 1996, Simon had spent 20+ years playing in Christian bands and working for an evangelistic charity, “The Wavelength Trust” mainly doing outreach in secondary schools; colleges & universities; youth clubs; and prisons. In 1975 Simon played in the British Youth for Christ band, “Really Free” (with Cliff Bergdahl) and then fronted: “Sea Stone”, “INTRANSIT” and “Fresh Claim”; doing hundreds of gigs across the UK and Europe. All of his musical output is published by Sea Dream Music and released through Plankton Records . Simon’s first full-time ‘Vicar’s job’ was in Dagenham in 1998 (just after getting married to Sarah!) before moving to be Rector of Pitsea with Nevendon in 2010. Current...

  Saturday 20 May: 9.30 am – 4.00 pm, Wickford and Runwell Art Trail See artworks by Val Anthony, William Butterfield, Enid Chadwick, Antony Corbin, Christine Daniels, David Folley, David Garrard and Julia Glover at St Andrew’s, St Catherine’s and St Mary’s churches , plus the photographic exhibition at the Salvation Army, Jackie Burns’ Space Art at St Andrew’s, Tim Harrold’s assemblages at St Catherine’s and paintings by Pam Jones at St Mary’s. Art talks/tours at St Andrew’s (10.00 am), St Catherine’s (11.30 am), and St Mary’s (2.00 pm). The artworks in these churches feature in a case study for the Gods' Collections project . Day 1 of One Beautiful World Arts Festival

Today, New Town, New Collection: Tales from George Morl’s private art collection began at St Andrew's Wickford. This pop-up exhibition sits alongside One Beautiful World , an exhibition of space art by Jackie E. Burns. George Morl also gave a fascinating talk this evening at Unveiled in St Andrew's Wickford covering their art practice and its connection to the development of their art collection. At St Catherine's Wickford, Timothy Harrold's exhibition The Art of the Diorama also opened and received its first visitors. Alongside this exhibition is a Coronation display created by the Mothers Union for Wickford and Runwell called The Way to the Coronation .
